Ouch Stitches for Brooks!

A few weeks ago, Brooklyn was helping me make dinner and tried to get some olives out of an open can sitting on the counter (while I wasn't paying attention). All of the sudden I heard her scream that her finger was stuck in the can and then she pulled the can right off. Her little pointer finger was cut and bleeding pretty bad and the skin was flapping off. I don't do very well in situations like these, but I think I stayed fairly calm and there really was a lot of blood for a finger anyway. We called the after hours clinic at our pediatricians and headed over to get stitches. I know she was scared and that her finger was hurting, but she really was brave and tried really hard not to cry (unsuccessfully, but at least she tried). My kids were surprised to hear that I made it through my childhood without any broken bones or stitches. Too bad we've already had both in our household lately.
Here is a nice close up of Brooklyn's finger after the stitches. OUCH!!!
