Fortunately we have not had very many accidents at our house yet, but let me tell you, our first ER trip was
definitely a good one. Just this Labor day weekend, Brynn was jumping on the tramp with Brooklyn and Brandon. Ryder and I were sitting on the back porch watching them play and all of the sudden
Brynnley started screaming and Brandon started yelling that her leg is broken. And then I see the leg. OUCH!!!! The foot was totally hanging at this weird inverted angle and there was absolutely no question that it was broken. So...we all jumped into the car and headed to the ER at
Timp hospital.
Brynnley was in a lot of pain and crying and everything, but she was still coherent enough to tell Brandon to "hurry and drive faster because I'm in a lot of pain here!" Once we got to the hospital, they X-
rayed her leg and told us that the Tibia and
Fibia were both broken and that we needed to go to Primary Children's Hospital for surgery. I rode in the
ambulance with Brynn up to Primary Children's. At that point, she was on enough Morphine that she was able to sleep the entire ride. Once we got there, the Dr. said that he didn't want to operate if he could set the leg without having to do surgery. Luckily, they were able to set the leg and put a soft cast on it and we finally got home about 1 am.
Brynn gets her real cast on Wednesday and they said that she we have it on for 4-6 weeks. She is such a brave little girl. I can't even begin to imagine how much pain she was in. It really breaks my heart to think about it and Brandon was also really upset to see her in so much pain. As a parent that is really hard to watch. I really hope we don't have to do anything like that anytime soon. What an adventure!
Brynnley is doing really well with her crutches. At first I was worried that she wouldn't be able to figure them out, but it didn't take her long to master it. Just last night she was having Brandon count to see how long it took her to go from the family room to her bedroom and then she was playing a little game trying to do it faster and faster.

With a new baby and a 5 year old on crutches, this past week has been a little challenging. There was one moment when Ryder was screaming and Brynn was crying from the pain and then Brynn stopped and she looked at me and said "Mom, is it hard to have 3 kids?" I said "Sometimes it can be hard." Then Brynn looked really sad and said "And now I'm just making it harder for you. I'm sorry." I thought it was so cute that she would even worry about me. She didn't want to cause me any more work. How cute is that? I love you Brynn!

Brynnley you are a very brave girl. I think it is cute to watch you scoot on your bum everywhere, but I am glad you have mastered the crutches. Keep smiling you cute girl.
How scary! I hope I don't have to watch one of my kids go through that!
Oh my gosh poor Brynnley! It is so hard to watch our kids in pain. You are so brave Brynnley!!
Poor thing! I'm sorry to hear about Brynn's leg. Hang in there Jeanette!
Okay that last paragraph made me cry. What a sweet girl to stop to think about how you were feeling! Halle has wanted to call Brynn every day! She is just so worried about her. Let us know if you need anything!!!
Oh My - I guess it's Brynn's turn this year. Remember Savannah's broken arm last year - about 1 month after we started Micros. I am so sorry for her - Savannah asked where her PINK cast was?
Brynnley, Abbie has been so worried about you. She tells anyone she knows the story. You look so brave on those crutches. I hope it heals real fast. Keep helping your mom! Your mom is lucky to have you for the oldest. Get better quick!
love the pictures Jeanette. It's just like Brynnley to have a broken leg yet still bring out her cover girl smile for the camera. Can't believe how much you have going on.
Oh my goodness, could there be anything else thrown your way? What a brave little girl Brynnley is, and a brave Mommy! Let me know if there's anything I could help you out with. Good Luck!
When It rains it Pours!!!! Because we have three Wild boys, we have made the trip to the ER a few too many times. And there is bound to be more in the future. Having a new baby and then a child with a boken leg would be challenging. But it sound like you have sweet daughters who will help out. Congrats on the new baby boy! Little boys are so much fun but I am a little biased having only boys!
So what's next? You really do have your hands full. That was so sweet about Bynnley being concerned about you. Kids really do catch on to what's going on. Hang in there Brynnley, you're one cute girl, even with a broken leg!
BTW, let me know if there's ANYTHING I can do to help. Don't be shy. I know your wonder woman and all, but come on!
zoey keeps me updated as to how brynn is doing "she finally went to school" and "she's getting so good on her crutches," etc. plus i will never forget seeing her all drugged up! haha
(sorry but i just had to add a little reality to all the sappy comments--which I love the sap too but sometimes funny is needed!)
Looks like you figured out your cute background. : ) It looks really nice! I love the picture of the kids for your header. You need to post some more of the photo shoot if you have them. How's Brynn doing now? Logan and Savannah were puzzling over her pictures of the cast and wondering how long she will have it on. Logan was hoping she would still have her crutches when he sees her at Christmas. I think he thought they looked like fun. Love Ya!
I am amazed at her independence. She doesn't want help in and out of the car and she told me the other day that she doesn't need help up the stairs now cuz her Dad taught her how to go up and down. I said well that's the least he could do since he broke your leg. ha ha JK of course I never said that just a joke . . .
