Beating the Winter Blues

Can I just say that I am really getting sick of winter. Every year about this time, I find myself ready to send the kids outside, put on capris and flip flops and enjoy some sunshine. The only problem is that the weather won't cooperate for another month or so at least. So.... here is what our family has been doing to keep busy lately....

Putting as many flowers and bows as possible into Ryder's hair until he freaks out. Don't mock it unless you've tried it. Its actually quite entertaining.

AHHHH....taking the family to the wonderful Chuck E Cheese and praying that they don't get swine flu.

Trying to make Valentines last as long as possible by writing love notes to each other all week. Here is one of my favs....It's sure nice to know you are "apreseated" once in a while!

Here are the love letter mail boxes that we used to entertain ourselves with...maybe we ought to do this all year long.

Making lots of Valentines treats is always a must. Although the sugar cookie project took about 3 hours, it was worth it when they actually turned out to be quite tasty. Thanks Robyn for the best sugar cookie recipe ever!!!!

Dressing up and going to a Fancy Nancy tea party at the Library was a definite highlight.

Watching Brynnley perform at a Utah Flash halftime was a fun family event.

And taking Ryder outside to run around if its not too cold always brings smiles...

I think he will be the happiest when spring is finally here. Lately he sits by the door and cries because he just wants to go outside. I know buddy... I feel your pain.

And finally if we are going to live in this place with the greatest snow on earth, then we might as well enjoy it right?

Skiing at Sundance with Brandon, Brynn, and Brooks.

Holy crap you have a lot of snow still! It was sunny and cool today, but I did sport capris and it almost felt like spring. Also, I laughed so hard at Ryder's bow do. I'll have to show the kids that one tomorrow. THANK YOU for the valentine pkg and pics! There were some cute ones on there and it inspired me to get my butt blogging again.
ps--I'd love the sugar cookie recipe. : )
